I thought it might be a good idea to write down some of the things my boys like/dislike. We'll start with Avery and go from there.
Avery
Likes: Airplanes, helicopters; movies/shows/anything on a tv screen, computer, laptop, etc; stories; "next days" (we read or tell a story and then we tell what happens the next day in the story. He always wants the next day to include Avery, Anson, and Isaac, and at least 3 scary things); cob on the corn (corn on the cob); pancakes; waffles; crepes; cereal; oatmeal (he is a breakfast all day kind of a kid); his brothers; wrestling; jumping off things; harassing his brothers; museums; the zoo; grandma's house; going to primary; birthday parties; treats; being first to do something; having the first one of whatever we are having; and doing things "just like Anson."
Dislikes: Timeouts; being the rockin' egg (aka rotten egg); when mom says "just a minute;" not getting to do things first; when Anson throws things at him; and when Isaac pulls his hair.
Avery wants to be a dentist someday like his dad. Although he also really wants to be an airplane pilot, too, so time will tell where his true allegiance lies. Will he follow in his dad's footsteps or will he side with those who denied his father a chance (that would be the Air Force). Side Note: Jon was going to apply to the Air Force Dental Scholarship Program, but he was denied even the opportunity to apply due to asthma as a child. Our boys became obsessed with airplanes while we waited for the Attorney General to decide on Jon's previous health history. We thought they might be devastated by the news that we would not be living by airplanes, however they did not seem to mind and Avery said something like, "It's okay, dad, Me and Anson will fly the airplanes when we get bigger." I hope the optimism carries throughout his life:)
Anson
Likes: LOVES airplanes and helicopters; pizza; stories and next days; museums; riding the blue UM bus or "daddy's bus" (the bus stop is right by our apt); zoos; noodles; milk; vitamin water; juice, juice, and juice (we don't usually have much juice, so he loves going to grandma Darlene's where the juice available like water); trucks and cars; Lightening McQueen; sliding down the back of the bunk bed; swinging; jumping; his firetruck bed; car rides; nursery; taking baths; his ducky blanket; and choosing a "pumpkin treat" (a treat from his Halloween treat bag).
Dislikes: When things don't go his way; when Avery teases him; timeouts;
